Art makes you — and your kids — smart, says Trish Halverson, former manager of arts and cultural education at the Cultural Council for Palm Beach County.

Art has a profound effect on the lives of young people and their educational experience. Students with an education rich in the arts have higher GPAs and standardized test scores, and lower dropout rates, Halverson says. They also are four times more likely to participate in a math and science fair, three times more likely to win an award for school attendance, and three times more likely to be elected to class office.

Besides all that, arts and culture are simply fun! And they’re great ways for families to bond. Looking for some artsy things to do with your children in Palm Beach County? Well, look no further.
