Visit Wakodahatchee Wetlands, a slice of the Everglades in Delray Beach where alligators and other swamp critters roam freely and the only sounds are the songs from the huge variety of birds who call the wetlands home! You'll feel like you are hundreds of miles from the nearest city. Constructed on 50-acres of previous wastewater utility property, these created wetlands are free and open to the public. Wakodahatchee features a three-quarter mile boardwalk crossing between pond areas and islands, with shrubs and snags to foster nesting and roosting. Free parking. Current hours are 6 a.m. - 7 p.m. but change with the seasons. No pets or drones.
